The winners of the 2010 Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR) Awards were announced yesterday (Monday 5 July) at the organisation’s annual conference at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, Wales.

The AGR Awards, now in their 32nd year, recognise and reward graduate recruiters for creative and innovative campaigns that attract the best graduate talent to their organisations. They are designed to highlight best practice in terms of graduate recruitment and to ensure standards within the industry remain high.

Carl Gilleard, Chief Executive of the AGR, said: “It’s brilliant to see a range of industries represented amongst the winners this year. All of them have done enormously well in what has been a difficult year for graduate recruitment. Particular congratulations must go to Accenture and Barclays Capital who have picked up an impressive two awards each. Congratulations to all this year’s winners, and we hope to see more of the same next year!”

This year’s Best Integrated Marketing Campaign award, sponsored by The Guardian, went to Accenture. The judges cited a very strong and well supported campaign, and cited the Boot Camp and Intelligence City concepts as highly innovative. Grant Thornton, RBS and QinetiQ were all highly commended, with Sanctuary Group given a special mention for its excellent first campaign that was well put together.

For this innovative integrated marketing campaign, Accenture also scooped the prestigious Blue Ribbon Award, which is seen as the best of the best award.

Barclays Capital picked up two awards including the Best Employer Brand award, sponsored by GTI Target Jobs. The judges felt that its message was authentic and credible, and most importantly it delivered on the promise. npower was highly commended in the same category.

The Graduate Selection & Assessment Award also went to Barclays Capital, for its innovative use of existing graduates to pilot a new assessment routine and interns to validate the process.

Teach First took the Best Website award, for inspiring content that judges felt contained everything a graduate would need to know. Reckitt Benckiser picked up the Best Website award for companies employing fewer than 100 graduates, and Jaguar Land Rover took the award for larger recruiters.

The Best Literature award went to Slaughter & May who were praised by the judges for producing in-depth and clear content as well as a graduate ‘day in the life’ feature. Lovells took the same award for companies employing fewer than 100 graduates, and PricewaterhouseCoopers picked up the award for larger recruiters.

Costain took the award for Best Graduate Development, with the judges citing impressive evidence of professional development schemes for their graduates, as well as a variety of tools used to monitor and evaluate engagement and to aid continuous development.
