There are 4 workshops and facilitated discussions to choose from. Each will begin with an input followed by small group discussions and report backs. The 4 working session topics are:
A Integration or Separation? Managing Graduates Performance — two employers compare their experiences of developing a separate performance management system for their graduates versus including graduates in the general firm-wide system
B How to meet the development needs of the next generation? — In keeping with the conference theme, is the way we have always done graduate development becoming redundant as the needs of the new generation change at a rapid pace. This session explores how a review of your development activities can assist with retention and employers share examples of new initiatives that are achieving results for them.
C Straight talking from the Line — In line with the 70-20-10 principle the work placements or initial role that graduates are given in their first few years form the most significant part of the development programme. Here’s a chance to hear from line managers about how they make placements and first jobs really work and to hear from them what they need from Learning and development in terms of support
D Integrating Graduates into your talent strategy — With the rise in school leaver schemes plus the existence of other talent pipelines in your organisation, it’s important to join up the thinking to achieve your resourcing goals. We raise key questions and report on practical approaches.
