Please note, this event has been rescheduled from its original date of 3rd December 2010.
Our first master class of 2011 will look at the initiatives that recruiters and universities are using to help them work together in the current climate.
The morning will kick off with a presentation from Winchester University and Logica. The team will talk about the innovative sponsored degree programme that they have developed together over the last four years. The first cohort of students started their studies in 2007 and have just graduated, and they are already making a significant impact on the business. Find out more about why this has been such a success.
Fergus Rose from ACS International Schools will talk about a qualification that is sometimes misunderstood in graduate recruitment. The International Baccalaureate diploma offers you the chance to engage with students who think differently, and who have the skills and experience that prepare them for life beyond the recession. What could students with this qualification add to your programme?
We’ll finish with a panel led debate looking at a range of activities that employers are using to reach out to students. We’ll discuss a “life course” approach to working with to 16-25 year olds through volunteering and charity work, links with different types of student groups and societies, making best use of your graduate alumni, placements and internships, the use of campus brand managers and the importance of sending you "best" ambassadors onto campus. The discussion will be led by Simon Reichwald, Director of Bright Futures (www.bright-futures.org.uk), who will be joined by a student president of one of his societies and Paul Rompani, chief executive of Lattutide Global Volunteering (www.lattitude.org.uk).
The event will include plenty of opportunities for networking and discussion, so come and join us on Friday 21st January, 9:00 — 12:30 in central London.
