Benefits for Universities

At AGR, we have long been advocates of building links between higher education and industry. We recognise the increasing demand for business-university collaboration, and offer a discounted rate to members from further and higher education institutions to help foster these relationships. The following benefits are included in your annual membership fee:

Government-backed expertise

In October 2012, AGR was awarded seed funding from the department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) to raise awareness of Higher Education Achievement Report among employers. This project is currently ongoing.

Networking events

The AGR gives you the opportunity to be a part of the wider graduate recruitment community. We host around 50 networking events a year, which bring graduate industry professionals together to discuss their problems and ideas, and to share best practice. We facilitate a number of HE networking and training events, including our Higher Education workshops, and our annual Careers Advisory Days.

Development Networks

Universities involved in the development of graduates are eligible to attend the AGR’s development network meetings, which take place up to three times a year. The meetings provide an open forum in which AGR members can discuss hot topics in graduate development.

The AGR Graduate Recruitment Survey

Our biannual Graduate Recruitment Survey is a vital tool, used extensively by our members to inform and improve their graduate recruitment strategies. Published twice a year, our surveys provide most the extensive and detailed insight into the state of the graduate jobs market, with statistics on graduate salaries, vacancy/application ratios, marketing spend, and retention.

Graduate Recruiter magazine

Graduate Recruiter is the official magazine of the AGR, published six times a year, providing informed news and benchmarking data, intelligent comment and topical features. All members of AGR are welcome to contribute to the magazine.

Knowledge sharing

AGR runs Masterclasses and Workshops throughout the year, which cover a wide range different topics. Our members are often invited to share their industry knowledge at these events. For universities, delivering an expertise session is the best method of indirectly promoting your institution to recruiters.

Representation

AGR prides itself on being the Collective Voice of Graduate Recruiters and Developers. An AGR membership will give your organisation the chance to have its voice heard within the industry.

Latest graduate news, jobs and events

We gather information from across the sector bring you the latest news, jobs and events. As an AGR member, you will not only receive our weekly newsletter, but you will also gain access to our active LinkedIn community, where open debate and discussion is strongly encouraged.

Additional services

In addition to the above membership benefits, we also offer AGR members a significant discount off the total cost of the following services.

Training and development

We run courses for those new to the graduate industry through to the more experienced, with a number of topical expertise training sessions and masterclasses, which take place throughout the year. We charge a small delegate fee per training session of £250+VAT for one-day courses, and £450+VAT for two-day sessions, in order to cover the costs of our expert trainers.

Two major conferences

AGR members can attend our one day Development Conference in March, as well as our Annual Conference; the largest event of its kind in Europe; which is held in July. Both events feature industry awards, which recognise and reward best practice in all aspects of graduate recruitment and development. Due to the number of costs associated with running events of this scale, members are subject to a discounted delegate fee.
