Frontline Recruitment Officer
Our mission is to transform the lives of vulnerable children by recruiting and developing outstanding individuals to be leaders in social work and broader society. The programme for participants is made up of an intensive Summer Institute, two years in a local authority undertaking frontline social work, and leadership development throughout. Participants will be placed in units of four in local authorities across Greater London and Greater Manchester, and will be led by Consultant Social Workers in child protection teams.
Frontline has a compelling attraction offer and a rigorous selection process. Through a high profile marketing campaign we seek to attract applications from people that may not have considered a career in social work before. In our first year, Frontline visited 15 universities and ran marketing campaigns through national and graduate media and received over 2,600 applications. Our rigorous and sophisticated selection process begins with self-selection tools, psychometric tests and video interviews before we invite shortlisted applicants to an assessment centre that includes simulated activities with professional actors, group tasks, and activities involving young people that were in care.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a pioneering organisation that recruits and develops new social workers to transform the lives of vulnerable children and families. The position offers an exciting mix of hands-on attraction work, systems development, data analysis, stakeholder management, and wider input into the work of a start-up organisation. You will be joining Frontline at an early stage in our development and will therefore be able to contribute to the wider organisation.
Successful applicants will be responsible for attracting and engaging with high quality applicants across universities and beyond. They also work closely with the wider organisations and social work stakeholders to select the best people to join the programme. In the first season, Frontline recruited 108 participants to start the programme. This second season, we predict growth and continued development in our processes. We need people to join a team committed to transforming the image of social work so that it is seen as a prestigious and rewarding career.
As a Recruitment Officer, you will work as part of the Recruitment Team at Frontline. The Recruitment Team oversees the entire attraction and selection process including delivery of campus and career changer events, systems development, screening, assessment centres and cultivation of offerees. You will also play an important part in this small organisation where there are opportunities to work across teams and build further experience. The Recruitment team is currently made up of five staff including a range of experiences from other graduate employers and social work.
