The Director of College-based Services is a senior manager within the Department of Shared Services for Students and Graduates. He/She provides strategic coordination of all college-based activities and is the Senior Account Executive for the contracts that The Careers Group holds with HE Institutions (HEI) for the delivery of careers education, information, advice, guidance, employability and employment services. He/She works closely with the Director of Central Services who is the strategic lead on all centrally provided and commercial services.

He/She will

a)    Be an ambassador for The Careers Group, liaising with senior management within HEIs to ensure customer satisfaction and to identify opportunities to develop new and existing contracts.

b)    Provide strategic direction for college-based activities but being mindful that Heads of College Careers Service must develop their local strategies to align with their Colleges.

c)    Work with the Director of Central Services to identify areas of synergy and collaboration between local and central provision of more transactional services

d)    Provide leadership and management  support to the Heads of College Careers Services to ensure they continue to be an effective senior management team

e)    Provide a focal point for press enquiries and proactively seek PR opportunities

f)    Enhance delivery through effective use of technology

g)    Provide strategic leadership on professional development for all staff of The Careers Group

h)    Ensure continuous quality improvement and customer service is embedded throughout The Careers Group.

In this position you will required to build new and strengthen existing links with regional, national and international employers, who have the potential to provide project and work experience opportunities to undergraduate students. You will provide student support and administrative support for projects and work experience, and work with the Career Development Service to encourage students to reflect upon and analyse their learning through project and work placement opportunities.
