Recruiting High Value Thinkers

Can high-value decision makers be conceived, prototyped, nurtured - in a word - designed? In the session on Oct 24th titled "Desiging the Thinker of the Future" Prof. Moldoveanu will outline why managers need to develop qualitative and tacit skills and how they can think differently to meet and solve complex problems. At the Rotman School, we are investing in the development of high-value decision makers. How? By cultivating new ways to think - rather than imparting general knowledge that can be just as easily be culled from texts. This new thrust is achieved by getting students and business leaders to examine, understand and improve the ways their minds work in highly complex ambiguous and conflict situations. It is those situations that are both real and least addressable by the use of standard formulas. Prof. Moldoveanu will also provide examples of successful leaders to illustrate how we can all learn to think that way.
