Assistant Director (Business Engagement) - Newcastle University
You will have full responsibility for the strategic leadership and management of the Business Engagement Unit, which comprises the Recruitment Services and Placement Teams, ensuring that work related learning is an integral part of the student experience at Newcastle and graduate employability ratings remain excellent. You will also be a member of the Service' s Senior Management Team and will be expected to make a major contribution to strategic direction, leadership and management of the Careers Service.
A current understanding of the Graduate Labour Market and how universities and businesses can positively influence employability is essential.
You must be a team player with a proven record of leadership, management, innovation and achievement in customer-focused service delivery. Able to build effective working relationships with clients, your experience might come from a background such as working in higher education, graduate recruitment/development or sales and marketing.

Placement & Internship Adviser - Imperial College London
Reporting to the Employer Liaison Manager the Placement & Internship Adviser will assist in marketing the College and its students to employers and providing an effective programme of activities and events to allow employers to promote their opportunities to students. The Placement & Internship Adviser will work closely with departments, students and placement providers to ensure access to both credit bearing and non credit bearing placement opportunities. They will take a lead role in helping to prepare students pre-placement, aiding the selection process, as well as monitoring and evaluating benefits and outcomes of placement learning.
The successful candidates will be self-motivated and be able to multi-task in a busy, changing office environment. S/he will be committed to excellence in customer care and will ideally have experience in a student facing or graduate recruitment setting. With experience of Microsoft Office, website editing/updating and social media, the successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively in writing, by email, telephone and in person. S/he will be an excellent team player able to work with tact and diplomacy to develop effective relationships and be committed to equal opportunities.
Experience of recruitment and selection processes, advice, guidance or training, customer service, data handling and administration would be advantageous.
The Careers Service provides information, advice and guidance to current students and Imperial College alumni to enable them to make informed career choices. The Service works with all year groups both undergraduate and postgraduate and has close links with academic departments and employers.
