Virgin Atlantic becomes AGR's 800th memberThe AGR, which is due to celebrate its 40th anniversary later this year, supports employers in all aspects of graduate recruitment, helping them to meet their current and future business needs. It offers a range of services to its members, including consultancy, training days and conferences. The AGR also publishes a bi-annual Graduate Recruitment Survey, which is widely regarded as the definitive barometer of the employment situation for graduates in the UK.
The AGR’s membership is made up of large and small organisations from both the public and private sectors. They collectively employ a large proportion of the graduate market in the UK.
Carl Gilleard, who is celebrating his tenth year as Chief Executive of the AGR, said: “Not only are we extremely proud of reaching such a major milestone but we are delighted that our newest member is such an exciting and dynamic employer. We greatly look forward to working with Virgin Atlantic.”
Simon Mason of Virgin Atlantic comments: "The airline prides itself on providing a workplace in which people love to work so our graduates soon settle into this unique environment. We want to be able to grow our own technical business managers as much as possible and our graduate programme will play an important part in achieving this. The Association of Graduate Recruitment membership will help us to keep abreast of the very latest trends in graduate recruitment and we're looking forward to benefitting from the various services that the AGR offers its members.”
The AGR will be holding its 2008 annual conference on 6-8 July, during which the results of its summer survey will be announced.
