Talent Management

The concern for lack of funding for firms efforts to identify, develop and retain talent in their organisations is expressed throughout the article:

"66% of HR bosses polled stated that their organisation had not allocatd a specific budget for the retention of their most talented employees."

Indeed 57% of those interviewed had no distinct talent managment strategy.

When interviewed however, the HR managers acknowledged that funding should take up to 20% of their budget, something which didn't occur. 60% agreed that offering staff development opportunities and career challenges would enabale them to hold onto their best employees.

The article stated "The main reason talented workers leave companies is due to the lack of development opportunities" .
